Well Met Adventurers!

It’s been a long time since I’ve played D&D and for most of you I’m betting it’s the same. I enjoy the work that goes into building a campaign and DM’ing – so I’m looking forward to this…

Onto the mechanics first – we are going to use Foundry VTT ( a virtual table top) for game play (maps, encounters, rolling, etc) and Zoom so we can all talk at the same time. For Foundry, only I need a license (which I have), you all connect to my server from a browser window. I also have a Zoom account, so we can use that also. All set there.

Foundry has the 5th Edition rules built in so I suggest we use those. I understand the game play is a little different than when I last played (2nd Ed 🙂 ) so we all have some reading to do. Below please find links to the Starter and Essential Kits – which start with some great overviews of the rules (please don’t read the adventure modules at the end of each – we could end up playing those 🙂 ). Also, I have a link for the Players Handbook (more detail) and a Character Sheet.

Feel free to decide what class and race you want to play – anything in the Player’s Handbook is fair game. Let’s try to make sure we have a balanced party if we can – some heals, some muscle, maybe someone that can handle traps, etc…

I am planning to host a session after Thanksgiving to help us familiarize ourselves with Foundry – I have a small scenario with 5 pre-made PC’s that we can run quickly. After that, we can get into a new campaign.

I was hoping to meet once a week online to play – Sunday nights was the first thought I had – but let me know what works best for you all.

Getting excited to start 🙂
